Celebrate Patrice and her love of SquashWise!

SquashWise is a youth and community organization that was near and dear to Patrice McConnell Cromwell's heart for many years. Their programs utilize the sport of squash to bring people together in community and to support them in reaching their goals.

All gifts directed to the PMC Memorial Fund will support SquashWise’s work with youth in Baltimore City. Patrice was passionate about making squash accessible to more people, and she dedicated her professional career to ensuring that older youth and young adults could thrive. Our youth development program does just this, with 100% on-time graduation, 80%+ college matriculation, and ensuring that all graduating seniors have a solid plan for after high school. We also have the ONLY public school squash team in Baltimore! Our Middle School, JV, and Varsity teams compete against local private schools and travel to tournaments around the country.

As part of the PMC Memorial Fund, SquashWise awards the Community Champion Award, an annual recognition given to one SquashWise student and one community member who exemplify the traits that we knew and loved about Patrice — compassion, inclusivity, dedication to the community, and being a great sport. The award is presented each year at the SquashWise Rally, our annual fundraiser bringing the entire SquashWise community together for squash, fun, and community-building. We were proud to honor Patrice posthumously as a 2026 Community Champion.
